1st day of school

Well, it's official. We are the proud parents of a kindergartner. Cameron has been waiting for this day for a very long time. He was so excited to go to school and couldn't wait to go back again today. He has the greatest teacher and 2 of his neighbor friends in his class. What a great first experience with school!!!It was a long day and he came home very tired but still wanted to play with his friends in the cul de sac. waiting outside with his class. waiting in the gym at the end of the day.

scooter

Funny story about this scooter. We actually stood in line at a 99cent store for the grand opening to get this scooter. Cameron was so excited to spend his own dollar for it. We will see how long it lasts and I don't think I will ever step foot in that store again so I hope he enjoys it for a little while anyway.

4th of July

We started our day out at the lake to watch the parade of kids with decorated bikes and wagons. We were not together enough to make it down there by 6:30 am but we did have fun watching. They had jumping castles and other fun activities afterwards. We stayed for a little while until it got to hot. The 2nd part of our day involved me taking the boys to the Barnum and Bailey circus. It was so much fun. I have not been to a circus in years. Cody was so excited for the tigers which did not make it out until the 2nd half and he was out cold afterwards. Finally, we went to the golf resort in tubac to see the fireworks. I thought Caitlin would be afraid of the noise but she was so into the music that she spent most of the time dancing. We had such a filled but very fun day.

Happy Birthday Caitlin

Our little Caitlin turned 2 today. She started the morning off by waking up at 4:30(she usually sleeps until 8:30). We went to the water park for a couple of hours in the morning. After naps we let her open some presents. She loves to dress up so she did get some dress up clothes but was very offended when I tried to take her picture. We gave her a birthday ice cream cone-and she loved it!!!! Here she is trying out her new fancy shoes. I can't believe she can actually get around in those things. I still have a hard time with heels. I can't believe that our little girl is already 2 yrs. old. She is so much fun and has such a bright/silly/fun personality. We love you so much Caitlin and can't wait to see what adventures the 2's bring to our family.

water park

The weather has been so hot that we go to the water park almost every day. Cameron is gettin the swimming down(finally) and Cody has become quite brave with the slides. Caitlin just loves to dance in the water to the music playing. This is Cody actually laughing-he goes down the slide a million times in a row. I am under this water with Cody-see Cameron trying to get to the spray before it finishes.

VBS

The boys were apart of the VBS down by the lake this past week. They did the power lab theme. It was such a fun time!!! They finished up the week by performing the songs they had learned for church on Sunday and a special explosion by Dr. Gigawatts. I know Cody's favorite part of the week was the candypult each night.

We didn't quite meet the Robinsons

We went down to the park for movie night. It was going to be Meet The Robinsons. We had everything all set up and treats/popcorn in hand. About 5 minutes before the movie was about to start a huge dust storm came out of nowhere and it was time to pack up and move out. The screen is inflatable and started to buckle in half. Luckily we have the movie at home and since we had all the fixins for a good movie night, the kids weren't to disappointed.

sandbox fun

A good friend of mine is moving away and gave us their sandbox. The kids have had so much fun playing in it. Thank you Ellen-we miss you guys:(

summer movie fun

We joined the summer movie program. They show a different kids movie each week. I did bring Caitlin with me the first couple of times and our neighbors have a girl who is the same age so the two of them have fun dancing together during songs. I have been fortunate enough though to do a trade with someone else where I watch her baby on Tuesday and she watches Caitlin for me on another day. It is fun to go with just the boys. So much candy-so little time!!!

water park open for business

Caitlin just wanted to hang with the cheetos. Sooooo cold- it felt like being sprayed with ice cubes. I'm sure it will feel better when it is 110 outside.

Memorial Day

We decided to take a family bike ride around the lake in the morning before it got to hot outside. We packed up the kids and off we went. We forgot that the annual Memorial Day triathlon was going on so when we rolled in on the sidewalk and saw the big timer in front of us we decided to veer out of the way. They must have been close to finishing because there weren't many runners in sight or we would have had some insight. We just decided to walk around for a little bit around the clubhouse area and than headed home. Cody and Caitlin had about enough of the sibling love and decided to fight all the way home. One would hit and the other would hit harder and than the cups started to fly out of the trailer. I do know that I did make it home in half the time it took to get there( I have a computer on my bike) Everytime I heard a scream I would kick it up another gear and pedal harder. I guess I at least got a good work out of it. Kris and I have started the thought process of inventing a new kind of bike trailer. The anticipation of a fun ride home.

them boots

I had gotten these boots for Caitlin and they don't even fit her yet but she wears them everywhere. The little girl across the street has them and Caitlin always wants to be like her and her sister. She actually gets around pretty good in them. I am sure they will be worn out before they actually fit.

neighborhood water slide

We bought this water slide to enjoy on those hot summer days. I know some of you may think we are crazy since we have a water park right down the street but this is great fun and we can use it on the weekends when the pools are very busy. We have already had so much fun with it and the kids sleep so great at night!!!

movie night

One of the things we love about living here is that the community does movie nights down at the clubhouse area. We went to our first movie down there. They were showing Ratatouille. The kids (and adults) had such a great time. Caitlin was a little high on sugar after having Italian ice and donuts. She just may have been more entertaining than the movie itself-she was literally standing on her head at some points. We can't wait to head to the next one!!!

motocross-what?!

Kris was flipping through the channels and started watching the motocross racing(motorcycles for those of you who don't know).It was the funniest thing-everytime the bikes would do some sort of a flip Caitlin would get very excited and start laughing hysterically. I guess we won't be heading to too many ballets in the near future.

TCM

Another fun day at the Childrens Museum. We haven't been there in a while and they have some cool new exhibits. This space area is really cool and they have clothes to dress up with. Trying to get her first drink from a fountain. Ahhh-success!!! Brushing those pearly whites.
